The Food and Beverage Issue Alliance (FBIA), co-chaired by ABA and AFFI, led 40+ organizations in a dialogue to review 2019 priorities with FDA officials, including newly named FDA Deputy Commissioner for Food and Response Frank Yiannas, who brings private sector perspective to his new position, Dr. Susan Mayne, and outgoing Deputy Commissioner Stephen Ostroff. ABA commented on new opportunities for FBIA to partner with FDA in 2019. ABA also expressed frustration regarding the volume of regulatory initiatives and pace of response from the Agency to provide necessary guidance for smooth, fully informed implementation.
