May 1, 2025 – The American Bakers Association (ABA) recognized three members of Congress during the Congressional Baking Caucus Launch Event. The event, which honors Congressional champions of the baking industry, boasted hundreds of attendees across ABA members and Congressional staff.
“The Baking Industry Champions Awards celebrate elected leaders who rise above expectations, delivering for both their communities and the commercial baking industry,” said Eric Dell, ABA President and CEO. "With facilities in districts across the country, baking is more than business, it’s a cornerstone of the American economy, creating purpose-driven jobs and delivering nutritious products to tables across the country.”
Those honored with the 2025 Baking Industry Champions Awards are:
• Congressman Donald G. Davis (D-NC-01)
• Representative Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN 3)
• Representative John Joyce M.D. (R-PA 13)
“The commercial baking industry plays a vital role in ensuring we have access to affordable, nutritious grain foods while contributing to the strength of eastern North Carolina and the U.S. economy. The Congressional Baking Caucus stands firmly behind this crucial industry while building on our shared traditions,” said Congressman Davis.
“Pennsylvania is home to the bakeries that stock store shelves and fill kitchens across our country. Commercial baking supports American farmers throughout Pennsylvania, and the country, all the while producing the fresh baked goods we know and love. I’m proud to co-chair the Congressional Baking Caucus alongside Congressman Davis, and it’s critical that we build support both in Washington and across the country for this vital industry,” said Congressman John Joyce, M.D.
