Today, we honor the contributions and achievements of the American workforce, and specifically, the nearly 800,000 workers of the baking industry.

Throughout the public health emergency, the hardworking baking industry frontline workers have ensured American families have nutritious and delicious baked goods to put on the table.

Because of the baking industry frontline workers, our families, and communities can take comfort knowing they will continue to receive a safe, bountiful supply of baked goods now and always.

The resilience and determination of the men and women on the baking industry’s frontlines deserve our deepest gratitude.

As members of the country’s essential critical infrastructure, baking and supplier employees have continued to show up to work every day through these challenging times.

Veterans Day

The baking industry honors the country’s military veterans today and always.

Today we want to take a moment to honor the military veterans and their families who have made sacrifices for this country.

The baking industry is proud to employ thousands of veterans in the baking industry who now continue to serve their communities by helping to feed America.

According to ABA’s recent Baking Industry Frontline Workforce Landscape Report, in 2019 commercial baking companies employed more than 3,000 veterans across the country.

As a leader of the Baking Industry Alliance (BIA), ABA is proud to partner with USO’s Pathfinder® Transition Program. The baking industry is honored to attract and employ transitioning military members and their spouses.

It’s times like this when people really focus on the basic necessities and essentials such as feeding their family.

We’re hearing the stories of distributors in stores, getting products, bakers coming to work every day, some cases leaving their families at home, and going through some of the shelter and home orders that are popping up all over the country.

These employees are putting themselves at risk to make sure that baked goods get made and onto the store shelves so that our communities and our country have food.
