Washington, D.C. — As the commercial baking industry continues to navigate a rapidly evolving marketplace and policy environment, the American Bakers Association (ABA) is closing out the year with strong momentum anchored by experienced leadership, expanded in-house expertise, and a clear strategic focus on advancing the needs of baking manufacturers nationwide.
As part of this year-end momentum, the ABA Executive Committee recently reaffirmed its confidence in the association’s leadership and long-term strategic direction with the five-year renewal of President and CEO Eric Dell’s contract. Over the past three years, Dell has led the development of a professional team that combines deep institutional and industry knowledge with new skills and perspectives designed to meet the needs of the membership.
“Eric’s contract renewal, especially given the length of five years, underscores the faith that the ABA Board has in Eric’s leadership and team building,” said Bill Quigg, ABA Chair and President of Richmond Baking. “It also highlights our commitment to our strategic direction, of which Eric has been a strong advocate.”
ABA’s senior leadership team brings 50 years of collective service to its work on promoting and protecting the commercial baking industry, offering essential insights into the regulatory, economic, and operational challenges facing baking manufacturers. This depth of experience has been instrumental in guiding the association through strategic innovations while maintaining a strong member-focused approach.
At the same time, ABA continues to strengthen the organization by welcoming new talent to expand its capabilities and expertise. In 2025, the association welcomed new professionals with specialized skill sets, including an economist to enhance data-driven advocacy and analysis, a designer to strengthen communications and member resources, and other professionals who have helped enhance the programs and services that support the commercial baking industry.
“As we look ahead, ABA is firmly aligned with our strategic plan and better equipped than ever to advance the priorities of the commercial baking industry,” said Eric Dell, ABA President and CEO. “Our ability to champion the industry and continuously enhance member services is a direct result of the ABA Board’s leadership and the dedication of the professional team. I’m honored to work alongside such a committed Board and staff in service to the baking community.”
“ABA’s strength comes from the partnership between our members, our Board, and our staff,” said Quigg. “Eric and the senior leadership team provide essential continuity and industry insight, while newer team members bring fresh ideas and specialized expertise. Together, this combination ensures ABA remains agile, forward-looking and focused on delivering meaningful value so that our members have the advocacy, resources, and support they need to succeed in the year ahead.”
