ABA IS THE VOICE OF THE BAKING INDUSTRY representing approximately 80% of the wholesale bakeries in the U.S. as well as their suppliers. It represents the interests of the wholesale baking industry before the United States Congress, the Administration, federal agencies, state legislatures and international authorities. It tackles key issues facing the wholesale grain-based foods industry and initiates key reforms to make positive impacts on the industry. Ultimately, our business is to keep you in business. Read more about our Mission and benefits of membership….

Through our association, member baking and allied companies (suppliers) are closely integrated and work together to achieve goals that benefit their mutual interests in the baking industry. ABA gives its members exposure to other companies in the industry. It provides several opportunities for them to network and exchange information and ideas through its numerous committee meetings and ABA’s annual convention.

ABA has a multitude of Committees that tackle the legislative and regulatory issues that impact the baking industry. Baking companies MUST stay on top of these issues or it could cost them deeply. Our job is to communicate and serve as the liaison between government and industry. We encourage member companies to be involved in the Committees (join a committee) to stay on top of these issues and offer their input. Most of ABA’s goals are accomplished through the work of the Committees and the ABA Board of Directors.

We have a variety of professional resources and a staff that is available to your company on a daily basis. In effect, ABA provides a comprehensive resource to the baking industry that can address most, if not all, sectors of the industry, operations and activities.

ABA is the voice of the baking industry - it needs industry support and participation if it is to continue to enhance the future vitality of the baking industry. By becoming a member of ABA, your participation will help support our efforts.

Who should join ABA – Membership is on a corporate basis – not individual. If your organization joins ABA, anyone from your company is considered a member and can access ABA’s resources.

Baker Members – ABA Baker Membership is open to any wholesale baking company.

Allied Members – ABA Allied Members are any supplier of products or services to the baking industry. Why join as an allied member? One of the benefits of allied membership is just by being a member of ABA, you are showing your support to the industry, which is very important in doing business with baking companies. You will receive and be listed in the next available membership directory and ABA can help you with your marketing efforts by providing a list of its baker members, a logo to include on your stationery “Proud Member of ABA” and access to various other resources that can put you leagues ahead of your competition. This is a list you don’t want to not be on!
